The race to be the top goalscorer in Serie A is always an exciting aspect of any season. Each of the leading strikers in the league will have their eyes on this particular prize from the opening weekend of every campaign.

The player that finishes the season at the top of the scoring charts will be awarded the Capocannoniere, also known as Paolo Rossi Award — named after the former Italian striker — and has been won by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Francesco Totti, Alessandro Del Piero, Andriy Shevchenko, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marco van Basten and Ciro Immobile.
