RaceBets is a traditional online bookmaker that only bets on several types of racing and no other sports. There are no other gaming products such as a casino and the operation is dedicated to racing. The types of racing covered are Flat racing, jumps racing, trotting and greyhounds. The international operation is based in Malta where it is regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority. Players located in Great Britain do so under license and regulation of the UK Gambling Commission. The licenses were first issued in 2010 but the site first featured full coverage of UK and Irish racing in 2012. The Racebets brand appeared in Germany as a bookmaker in 2007. The site features horse racing from 40 countries including ante-post betting.

How To Use The RaceBets App

Racebets have not developed apps for Android and iOS devices but the horse racing dedicated does offer a mobile website. It is surprising that there is no mobile app for Android devices and the iPhone because betting on horses on the move is increasing.  Race goers are faced with less value when they bet with on-course bookmakers so place bets using a mobile phone. The mobile website serves that purpose but Racebets may take more bets if potential bettors could download an app from one of the app stores. It is fair to say the mobile website is well designed with an intuitive interface.

The Racebets mobile website offers all the functions of the desktop version. There is comprehensive coverage of the four racing disciplines, live streaming from meetings around the world and banking procedures on the RaceBets mobile website. All browsers are now mobile-optimised which means the app can be read. Once the app has been installed users can set up a shortcut on the Home screen. The mobile website is a simplified version of the desktop site. The pages are uncluttered and the design is intuitive. Mobile users can survive with Android and iOS releases.

Racebets App Features

The RaceBets mobile website replicates the PC version and all the features are available in both formats. The key elements of the site that are an important part of mobile betting are described below

Pre-Race

RaceBets is rare amongst UK facing and European online bookmakers in that it only offers betting on the following four types of racing: Flat, jumps, trotting and greyhounds. In total these formats contribute racing from about 40 countries and customers can bet on over 250,000 races each year. At the time of writing the meetings from the following countries were prominently displayed:

  • United Kingdom
  • Ireland
  • South Africa
  • France

That is just a small sample of the racing nations featured across the four disciplines. RaceBets includes meetings from all five Continents and on any one day customers can place bets on up to 20 meetings. The most bet on races are those staged in the UK over jumps and on the Flat. Mobile customers have access to the following information for each race: type of race, conditions distance, prize fund and surface. The following information is available to mobile customers for each horse:

  • Number
  • Draw
  • Name of horse
  • Recent form
  • Weight
  • Age
  • Sex
  • Jockey
  • Trainer

For all races across the spectrum, customers can take a price or gave winning bets settled at the Starting Price.

Ante-Post

Mobile players with RaceBets have a vast array of ante-post markets to assess. At the time of writing Royal Ascot is imminent and customers can bet in ante-post markets for most of the races. There is no non runner/ no bet concession so if a horse is withdrawn before race day all stakes are lost. RaceBets has ante-post markets for the next Cheltenham Festival in March 2020 in June 2019. There will also be betting on offer for major international races like the Kentucky Derby, Breeder’s Cup, Dubai World Melbourne Cup and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Streams

Horse racing gamblers generally like to watch races when they place a bet. A dedicated racing site would lack something significant if there was no live streaming. The streams of races from around the world are high quality and the pictures are as good as those broadcast by a specialist racing channel. There is an icon at the top of the racecard which indicates that there will be live streams of the races. The streaming is available a few minutes before each race and contains some analysis and horse being loaded in the stalls for a Flat race.

Statistics

The four types of racing covered by RaceBets generate statistics which some betters refer to when selecting bets. The statistics section includes a Form Guide and Jockeys and Trainers records. Tables can be displayed showing the current leading rider and trainer in several countries including the UK, United States and South Africa. There is a search facility which can be used to display the record of the horse in question.

RaceBets Welcome Offer

Desktop and mobile users alike can claim the RaceBets welcome offer which is £50 in the form of a matched deposit. The RaceBets welcome offer is subject to the following Terms & Conditions:

  • New PC and mobile customers only.
  • The minimum deposit is £10.
  • This must be bet once.
  • 100% matched deposit bonus.
  • The maximum bonus is £50.
  • The bonus must be wagered 5 times at odds of 1/2 or bigger.
  • The wagering requirements must be completed within 45 days.
  •  RaceBets general Terms & Conditions apply.

The welcome offer is for a decent amount and the rules are transparent but the wagering and odds requirements negate some of the benefits.

Racebets Payment Methods

Mobile customers with RaceBets can choose from the same selection of payment methods for desktop users. Deposits and withdrawals can be made using debit and credit cards, e-Wallets and prepaid cards. Some credit card operators will charge a fee but the other methods are free of charge.

Racebets Restricted Territories

Bettors from the United Kingdom are accepted but other territories could be restricted depending on the local laws. The site can be read in about 20 languages including those spoken in most parts of Europe. Players based in the United States are not permitted to access the site and place bets.

Racebets Customer Service

There is a comprehensive Help section at RaceBets featuring a Knowledge Base and contact details for emails and the phone. Customers can chat live with representatives when the Knowledge Base does not provide the answer to questions. The customer service department is open from 7am to 10.45pm seven days a week.

Racebets Summary

RaceBets provides an excellent mobile betting experience on a well designed screen with intuitive navigation. The mobile site compares favourably with a downloadable app. There is no mobile promotion section and apps are being developed. If the apps are as good as the mobile website there should be no complaints. The RaceBets mobile website is a great destination for betting on just four race disciplines.
